MOVING ON UP - NOTHING CAN STOP US?

Mark Pinder News 16 December 2019

MOVING COMPANIES LOWESTOFT - MOVE MY STUFF

Apologies if you've now got an M People ear worm lodged in your brain, but there's not that many songs about moving! This Lowestoft removal company is struggling anyway to think of others. "I shall survive" that disco classic by Gloria Gaynor has lyrics that hint at moving but not through choice!

Anyway we digress.

Did you know that Christmas, specifically Boxing Day, is when traffic numbers on property portals like Rightmove and Zoopla soar? It's statistically true. Whether it's the unseasonal damp that hangs over East Anglia that makes wish us for cooler or warmer climes, it's not clear.

More likely is the feeling of food and drink excess, with families and friends around, with the clutter of Christmas that makes us look longingly at moving.

Now. Move My Stuff are not grinches trying to steal Christmas - quite the opposite, we're alerting you to the fact that if upsizing, downsizing, relocating crosses your mind on Boxing Day, keep us in mind to help you.

We cover the whole of East Anglia, being based in Lowestoft, we like any job that involves southerly, northerly, or westerly travel. Eastern directions are off limits though, as our Luton vans are sadly not amphibious.

Did you know too that Amsterdam is geographically closer to us than London?

Well you do now.

Back to Christmas though.

The Christmas tree, decorations fighting for elbow room might have you reaching for Rightmove on your new iPad, Galaxy Note 10 (trying to be inclusive) and looking at bigger homes or newer areas.

There is certainly more political certainty and estate agents we know have reported new activity in the property market.

You make think of abandoning the coast for the city of Norwich - we can help.

We don't just specialise in residential moves - we can help you with commercial moves, as well as exhibition work. Check out our blog.

The New Year continues to see more itchy feet and we quote:

"Rightmove have released data that shows property searches doubling over Christmas and New Year last year. As to be expected, page visits were low on Christmas Day, Rightmove traffic increases daily until the 29th December. There is a quiet period around New Year's Eve but then a serious 'peak' in page visits in the early days of the New Year."

Move My Stuff is a Lowestoft removals company that provides cost-effective Man and Van services for that affordable relocation. Every Man & Van booking comes with a Luton sized vehicle (with tail lift)  and an expert two man crew. This service is available on an hourly or daily rate basis.

If you're planning your next move - Call or text Mark on 07811140064 - I will be more than happy to advise you of the most suitable option. You can also email us on This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

A BRIEF GUIDE TO USING A MAN AND VAN REMOVALS COMPANY - MOVE MY STUFF

Mark Pinder News 21 November 2019

FINDING A COST-EFFECTIVE REMOVALS SERVICE TO TRANSPORT YOUR BELONGINGS FROM A TO B - WHERE DO I START?

Here's a few handy tips on how to find and what to look for when searching - 'Man & Van removals company'.

1. HOW DO I FIND A REPUTABLE MAN AND VAN COMPANY?

Other than asking friends and colleagues for personal recommendations, you'll no doubt find yourself conducting a Google search. A good place to start would be with a keyword expression, which could be something like man & van or man & van removals followed by the name of your local town or city ('man and van Lowestoft' or 'man and van removals Norwich'). You will then be presented with a plethora of options - simply click on the site that looks like the right fit and check out their credentials - manpower, price transparency and types of vehicles used are some of the key areas to pay particular attention to, this will help to get your search off on the right footing!

Checking local newspapers may also be an option if you're seeking a cheaper alternative - but you really should be looking for a reputable man and van company with an online presence.

2. HOW MUCH CAN I EXPECT TO PAY FOR A MAN AND VAN REMOVALS SERVICE?

It really comes down to the nature of the job and how much or what sized property has got to be moved. Most man and van companies charge an hourly rate to transport items between location points, locally. For instance, Move My Stuff will charge an hourly rate for a few items or a lightly furnished property - it helps cut costs and we've found it offers real value for money. You can check out our man & van packages here. But generally, you can expect to pay in the region of £50-80 per hour for a professional service - this ideally should include a Luton sized vehicle and a two man team.

3. HOW CAN I KEEP COSTS DOWN?

The overall cost of your move will largely depend on the length of time the job takes (if you've opted for the hourly rate) so you have the real chance to save some serious money by having everything boxed and furniture dismantled in advance - this reduces the time it takes to load and unload the removal van. If you're feeling particularly fit on the day you can also roll up your sleeves and offer the removal crew an extra pair of hands, this will save time and keep a few extra quid in your pocket!

4. WHY USE A MAN & VAN SERVICE?

Move My Stuff is a Lowestoft removals company that provides cost-effective man and van services - and its a popular hit with our clients. If you're moving across Lowestoft, Great Yarmouth or Norwich its hands down the most suitable option. That's because you have the flexibility of either the hourly rate for those smaller loads or a day rate for those larger relocations. Even if two  trips or more have to be made it always works out cheaper than using a traditional removals service.

Every Man & Van booking comes with a Luton sized vehicle (with tail lift) and an expert two man crew. These smaller vehicles are excellent at negotiating those narrow country lanes or manoeuvring around vehicles in more densely populated parts of the city. You also won't get frowned upon for blocking up the road with a large removal van!

If you're planning your next move -  Call or text Mark on 07811140064 - I will be more than happy to advise you of the most suitable option. You can also email us on This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

3 WEEKS OF OVERNIGHT CLOSURES BUT THIS LOWESTOFT FIRM CRACKS ON

Mark Pinder News 07 November 2019

LOWESTOFT'S PREMIER MAN AND VAN REMOVALS COMPANY - MOVE MY STUFF

Forgive Move My Stuff for this local blog for local people but you may be aware that the A12, now called the A47 in some Prince tribute is closed overnight for 3 weeks from 3rd November. This means that Lowestoft to Gorleston becomes potentially a horrendous diversion on side roads.

Luckily though, we don't get asked often to make midnight moves from Corton to Hopton, but if we did in the next month, we'd slay it.

We have smaller removal vans, 3.5 ton Lutons if you demand exactitude and if a customer decides to move at night from Church Lane Gunton to Seafields Drive, Hopton, we'd be fine.

Now we couldn't hop on the A47 (A12 as was) and blithely accelerate along the dual carriageway from Corton Long Lane to the Co-op in Hopton - no we'd have to be canny and drive circuitously through the outlying villages.

There's been talk locally that the diversions are taking people on long treks to cross that border into Norfolk - many have been sent, it's claimed, to Somerleyton and St. Olaves to join the A143 Beccles Road.

But if you know the area, like this Lowestoft removals company does, you'll be savvy with shortcuts.

Our Luton van at 11 pm could nip through Blundeston, pass the Village Maid and Mardle Café in Lound, wave to the ducks and meet the "new road" after Browston.

Admittedly these roads would be impassable for bigger removal rivals but Mark and his team and his Luton vans?

No problemo.

Now you didn't click this blog post on this website and our social media to read all about the A47 - or maybe you did, as to be honest, we find it interesting but to learn more about how we can move you, your stuff and your exhibitions across East Anglia and further afield.

Further than King's Lynn - which feels to Buzz and others like Infinity and beyond?

We offer traditional customer service where the client is king or queen - they're not simply words on a website - they're what we do consistently.

Forgive the pun, we deliver excellence on a daily basis.

We can help you with home removals, packing, delivery and storage, commercial and office moves with transparent pricing and excellent road knowledge, even when main routes are closed.

So be warned!

MOVING HOME, OFFICE OR FOR EXHIBITIONS? WE CAN HELP.

Mark Pinder News 09 October 2019

Move My Stuff is a versatile Lowestoft outfit. We can be classed as a Man and Van company - albeit the Lutons are stretching the definition of a van. We are a full service removals business covering Norfolk and Suffolk and further afield. We are also available on an hourly rate for those smaller, local moving jobs. When available of course. We also do commercial moves and make an exhibition of ourselves too.

THINK ABOUT IT

Home owners are not moving as much as they used to. On new estates, like Parkhill in Lowestoft, the average time spent in one of those properties in 2009 was 4 years. Now it's 9 years. Moving frequency is even lower in older homes and now stands statistically at 19 years. That's a long time for any removals service to be waiting for phone calls and emails, so we've diversified as it makes great business sense.

Think of Argos. It was only recently in grave danger of collapse, but it closed some stores and reinvented itself with an app, a tie in with Sainsbury's and, probably more significantly, became a Click and Collect centre for eBay buyers.

Those pencils and note pads were in danger of becoming museum pieces but Argos saw the writing on the wall and adapted.

IT'S JUST WHAT WE'RE DOING - BUT WITH REMOVALS

Norwich has become something of a centre for exhibitions - Carrow Road is often used for trade events and we're increasingly seeing greater demand for moving services from businesses who are plying their trade at conferences and networking events.

ART EXHIBITIONS ARE BIG BUSINESS IN NORFOLK

We have events at Norwich Castle, the Sainsbury's Centre near the UEA and at other venues in and around the city.

Exhibiting is often about logistics, or careful planning, and this is something we specialise in. Our flexible and cost-effective Man and Van services are ideal for such events.

COLLECTION AND DELIVERY

Our Man & Van teams will collect and deliver at a convenient time for you, helping with display purposes, and can remove things that you don't want on your stands, like surplus stock and packaging.

WE PROTECT YOUR VALUABLES

We treat your exhibition material with the same exceptional care as that shown to our domestic clients. All your material is protected in transit and insured. We also kmow how vital timing is when putting on an event and will factor that in.

WHAT ABOUT OFFICE MOVES?

We have that covered too. We know companies relocate, expand and we understand the requirements of moving heavy office furniture and valuable equipment like computers and multi-function printers.

LIKE A HOME MOVE, EVENT OR EXHIBITION, PLANNING AND ORGANISATION IS KEY

When you move offices, you don't want employees wasting time and productivity on repositioning furniture and equipment after we've gone. We talk before and during an office move to make sure that everything goes smoothly, with no hiccups.

Finally, because we don't drive huge lorries, we offer great flexibility in terms of volumes moved and access to events, offices or new homes. You can take advantage of our value for money hourly and day rates.

HOW MOVE MY STUFF CAN MOVE YOU TO NORWICH

Mark Pinder News 16 September 2019

MOVING COMPANIES NORWICH

If you mention Norfolk and Suffolk to anyone outside East Anglia, certain themes pop up - Alan Partridge, The Sale of the Century, big skies, sunny climes and a flat landscape.

Indeed the two counties we predominantly serve are all these things and more - but think again about flatness.

Norwich, the capital of Norfolk, is not flat.

Admittedly, you wouldn't go there to ski in winter (though there is a dry ski slope at Trowse) or pack an oxygen mask or crampons to tackle Constitution Hill or Grapes Hill (the clue is in those names) but don't go assuming Norwich, like Norfolk and Lincolnshire, is pancake flat.

It's not.

Norwich doesn't have the dramatic rise of Steep Hill in Lincoln but it does share ascents and narrow streets with that city and others like York.

Its road layout comes in for a lot of criticism locally - Norfolk's road network is to, put it politely, a little dated, but roads like the NDR and the dualling of the A11 have seen journey times cut. Norwich is only 90 minutes away from London too by train so it's hardly isolated.

It calls itself a "Fine City" and it is indeed.

Norwich is also the UNESCO City of Literature and many famous authors studied at the UEA.

You didn't click on a Lowestoft Removal Company's website though for a lengthy hymn to Norwich.

Charles Dickens, who set parts of "David Copperfield" in Great Yarmouth used to live near our base in Blundeston and he, believe it or not, used to walk across the marshes to Norwich regularly from there.

MOVE MY STUFF - A MAN AND VAN COMPANY BASED NEAR NORWICH

You don't have to do that, either solo or with your personal belongings, furniture and white goods harnessed behind you.

We can do that for you.

The beauty of Move My Stuff too is that congested streets of city centres pose few problems for us.

You've got your heart set on a new development overlooking the River Wensum on King Street, our Luton vans will navigate that easily.

You want to move to Norwich's Notting Hill - The Golden Triangle - we can do it. You can Unthank us later.

Many cities are seeing outward migration - London is for example, as house prices force people to look elsewhere and commute in.

Norwich, however, remains relatively affordable.

House prices there are higher than in Great Yarmouth, Beccles, Lowestoft and Gorleston, but they are not London Monopoly prices no.

A terraced home in that wedge between Newmarket Road, Unthank Road and Earlham Road, won't see much change from £250,000 but you can get city centre apartments for under £200,000.

The suburbs of Norwich like Eaton, Cringleford, Thorpe St. Andrew cost more, but there's other parts that cost less, like Hellesdon and Costessey, yet remain within easy reach of the city centre.

If you're thinking of moving to or within Norwich to be nearer work, or to enjoy metropolitan living in either a home let or home purchase, then our removals team at Move My Stuff, would be delighted to tackle that quasi Alpine city landscape.
