5 REASONS TO USE A PROFESSIONAL MAN AND VAN COMPANY

5 REASONS TO USE A PROFESSIONAL MAN AND VAN COMPANY

Mark Pinder News 14 June 2019

Moving house is costly. With solicitors’ fees, surveyors, stamp duties and more, you may be reluctant to also pay for a removal company. If you are moving to a small flat, or downsizing, doing it yourself just may be the way to go. Hiring a van and bringing in some family or friends may seem like the ideal solution but the reality can be an altogether different story.

However, for others, a professional and reliable removal company is an important part of the move. Removing a big amount of stress and, making sure all your beloved possessions make it to your new home in one piece. But it can still be a tough decision to choose whether employing a professional removal company is the right fit for you. So, we have outlined our top 5 reasons why you may use a removal company to help you move.

Affordable Removals in Lowestoft

If you're of a certain vintage, you may know Van Morrison, the Irish legend with songs like "Moondance" and "Brown Eyed Girl".

What you may not realise is that one nickname for him was "Van the Man" which seems entirely appropriate as in this post, we want to talk Man and Van.

Now we must stress that we're not just a Man and Van company; there's a team of us and a solitary man with an unsuitably sized van may conjure up images of a beaten up old Ford Transit or Peugeot Boxer when the reality is very different.

Expert Man and Van services at Move My Stuff

Our Man and Van bookings come with a 3.5 ton Luton van with a two man crew - not the giant containers beloved by so many removal companies nationally - but still a great option for moving someone from a hypothetical 3 bedroomed home in one trip.Your neighbours will also thank you for not blocking up the road with a large removal vehicle.

We charge too a reasonable hourly and daily rate and the Luton van is fully equipped to deal with small, medium or larger properties. Given that the average move distance statistically is 4.6 miles, a second trip is not really an issue if the transporter gets full.

It's well equipped too with a tail lift for hoisting those white goods, wardrobes and heavy items, as well as removal blankets to wrap your furniture and appliances in, and it keeps them warm!

Our Man and Van teams are equipped with a sack barrow, webbing ties, and extra packing supplies so it's not like turning up to a van hire place and then thinking "how will we lift the fridge freezer and keep it from dents and moving? We do that - and we're experienced and fully insured in moving your stuff.

You may have attempted moving homes yourself, we know many that have, and deeply regret doing it to save a few quid. That back ache, that lifting - that uncertainty on how to dismantle a bed and negotiate that wardrobe through a door and down an angled staircase. We'd like to say we do it with ease - but practice has made us nearly perfect!

Drivng a van is no mean feat in itself. You have to think about braking distances, judge pulling out at junctions more carefully as it won't have the poke of your car.

We know our Lutons well and won't struggle to park, brake or negotiate a bend, like that wardrobe.

You break something en-route and you're left negotiating with insurers - assuming you're covered. You sprain your back lifting and that's another problem.

Finally if you're still undecided we'll leave you with 3 questions to ask yourself:

  1. What is my budget? Work out the cost of hiring us with our transparent pricing against the extra time and stress it will cost you?
  2. How much work am I willing to do? Moving is gruelling work.
  3. What is the access like to my new property?

If you have any other questions about moving in Lowestoft, Great Yarmouth or Norwich or elsewhere, contact us today.

Move My Stuff - A Professional Man and Van Removals Company

There's a lot to be said for Suffolk and Norfolk (apart from the road network) so we'll quietly ignore that and there's some other aspects you take for granted (including us here at Move My Stuff - a premier Man and Van removals company skirting Britain's most easterly point) when you become familiar with an area.

Let's start  with the climate.

Admittedly the 'Beast from the East' in February/March 2018 came as a bit of a shock locally as snow and ice are fairly rare occurences in East Anglia. We do get some of the white stuff and sea surges threatens towns like Lowestoft and Great Yarmouth, but largely winters are fairly mild.

Summer can also be great here.

Norwich gets hotter, as does Bury St Edmunds with both being inland, but the coastline we serve isn't dotted with holiday parks and tourist destinations for no reason.

Sunshine is in plentiful supply from spring to autumn, generally, locally.

As one of the leading removal companies Lowestoft, we see other parts of the country and the big skies and sunny climate never fails to make us smile on the long drives home.

It's one of the main reasons why people want an east coast relocation - our weather.

A second positive about Lowestoft, Gorleston and Great Yarmouth are our beaches.

Six have recently won clean water awards from the EU and, if you're brave enough to swim or paddle in water at 18 degrees in late summer, you'll have peace of mind knowing how clean they are. You can wade out quite far too in places like Gorleston and Southwold without becoming submerged - again, if you're brave enough!

Beaches here are popular in winter too when the tourists have upped sticks and you can wander along Pakefield beach to Kessingland, without seeing many people at all!

Thirdly, house prices.

Now don't be peering at Woodbridge, Aldeburgh or Southwold, those three honeypots of Suffolk and expecting to find bargain prices. You won't. Unless you're comparing prices with London or Surrey, you may be surprised at how expensive these areas are.

But Ipswich and Lowestoft are affordable places to move to and within these areas (if you can face the road network).

Lowestoft itself has some prime areas like Corton, Gunton, Carlton Colville and Oulton Broad, but other parts of the town see great demand for property with lowish prices. A similar story can be found along the A12 as was, now the A47 where places like Gorleston with its magnificent beach and buzzing town centre, where you can pick up a property for around £100,00.

Parts of Lowestoft and Great Yarmouth are even lower.

Finally, there's so much to do in this area.

You've got beaches and a magnificent city of shopping, culture and dining in Norwich, only 35 minutes away by train or car.

There's the Broads too: a vast man made peat extraction industry that became waterways. If you're a nature lover, the rivers and broads will definitey hold appeal.

You have woodland areas too at places like Fritton, lakes of Lound and plenty of local history at the beautiful Roman fort at Burgh Castle.

Writing this has made me think why would anyone leave here?

If you are planning on leaving, or coming to this magical area, the team at Move My Stuff would be delighted to tell you more.
